The high heeled luxury and sports car aficionados residing in India
have many enticing options available at the moment in the auto market,
so as to pump their performance oriented driving hunger. At present,
almost all top global premium sports and luxury car makers, such as
Rolls Royce, Ferrari, Lamborghini, Aston Martin, Bentley, Porsche, BMW,
Audi and Mercedes Benz among others, possess a significant market
presence in the country.
Sports cars fuelling the passion for speed among the rich young Indians
In a list consisting of most fawned upon vehicles among rich and young
Indian audience, the Ferrari Enzo surely tops. The Ferrari Enzo F140 is
powered by a 6.0 litre, 5998 cc, 65° oriented V12 with 4 valves per
cylinder, dual overhead cams and Variable Valve Timing (VVT) equipped
powertrain. The Enzo can accelerate to 100 kmph (62.5 mph) in just 3.7
seconds and can reach a 100 mph (162.5 kmph) in 6.6 seconds. At present,
the Ferrari Enzo is available at a price tag around Rs. 3.5 crore in
the country. Ian Nazareth, Sole importer for Ferrari in India and the
Indian Subcontinent, has one Enzo in his garage.
The Lamborghinis are also quite favourite among domestic car
enthusiasts, with both Gallardo and Aventador winning hearts of Indian
audience. The Lamborghini Gallardo is offered at a price tag around Rs.
2.2 crore, while its elder brother Aventador is available an exorbitant
price close to Rs. 4 crore. Further, the rivalry among the Italian super
sports car makers can also be found between British premium luxury car
marques- Rolls Royce and Bentley. The Rolls Royce models are quite
sensation among Indian luxury car enthusiasts and one Ghost coupe can be
found in possession of acclaimed Indian actor Aamir Khan.
The British premium sports and luxury car maker, Aston Martin has also
garnered a decent footing in the Indian auto market. The company famous
for its vehicles featured in James Bond movies, offers six exciting
products to local car enthusiasts priced between Rs. 1 crore and Rs. 20
crore. The lowest priced Aston Martin DB9 sports car at Rs. 1 crore,
while the most expensive is the jaw dropping One 77 supercar at Rs. 20
crore. The other Aston Martins offered in the country are V8 Vantage, V8
Vantage S, V12 Vantage, Virage, Rapide and DBS.
Nissan GT-R is also quite popular among Indian car enthusiasts with a
penchant for ultra stylish sports cars. The GT-R is powered with the
beast of a 3.8 litre, 3799 cc, V6 powertrain coupled with two parallel
turbochargers. The engine assembly churns out a whopping power and
torque equation of 474 bhp and 588 Nm, respectively. Further, the car
zooms from 0 to 100 kmph in just 3.5 seconds and could reach a top speed
of 311 kmph. The Nissan GT-R comes at a price tag around Rs. 75 lacs in
the country.
